Welcome to Honor Flight South Dakota

They answered the call...now it's time to say thanks.

Veterans Organizations and other volunteers have formed "Honor Flight South Dakota", a HUB of the Honor Flight Network. The Honor Flight Network (www.honorflight.org) is a non-profit organization dedicated to giving WWII veterans a free trip to see their national memorial in Washington DC.

The National WWII memorial in Washington DC was completed and dedicated in 2004. Since the dedication, local groups have raised money and organized trips for veterans to travel by bus or plane to Washington. So many local groups were interested that a national support organization, head quartered in Ohio, was formed to provide logistical help for local Honor Flight Hubs.

Honor Flight recognizes the service and sacrifice of American Veterans with a trip, at NO COST to the veteran, to visit the National WWII Memorial and others including Arlington National Cemetery. Most WWII veterans are now in their 80's and do not have the where-with-all to travel on their own. Honor Flight Guardians travel along providing assistance and helping veterans have a safe, memorable, and rewarding experience.

Honor Flight South Dakota-A statewide project-Affiliation with Honor Flight Network-A series of flights from South Dakota to Washington DC-Free to Veterans--Guardians pay their own travel expenses-  Goal- Four Flights througout the year

The Honor Flight South Dakota project is made possible by individual donations, donatations accumulated through fundraising activities by Veterans and Community Service Organizations, and by Major Donors and Corporate Sponsorships.
